April 2013
Dear Parents,
Testing for FCAT will begin April 15 - 18. Please make sure that your 3rd grader is here promptly by 9:00 each day. New to this year's FCAT: Any students absent for Session 1 may not participate in Session 2 until they have completed Session 1. Session 1 MUST be completed before Session 2. We would like to make sure that all students are given the test with their class and will not have to complete make-ups. This test does determine a student's promotion or retention. We know that our students will do a fantastic job, because they have been well prepared. Encourage your child to try his or her best on the FCAT!
Please make sure that you start getting your child ready for the test by doing the following things:

Yellow Card Password -
Dear Parents, The safety of your child is our number one priority in the Baker County School System. In an effort to ensure your child's well-being, you will see a new entry on the STUDENT INFORMATION CARD this coming school year. All parents must select a secret password to be used for their child when making phone calls to school regarding student travel, bus changes, last minute messages, etc. This password will help insure that we are receiving correct information from the individual on the telephone, which will keep your child safer. This secret password will be stored at the school on the student's "yellow card" in the front office and will be required each time a parent calls to deliver messages to their child. You are encouraged to be thinking about your password selection, recording it where you can access it, and then making sure that it is given only to the correct people in your family. You will be asked for this password beginning August 20, 2012, the first day of school. Please be aware that any request regarding your child over the phone will not be honored without this secret password. Thank you for your help as we work together to continue to have a safe school environment for our children.
Sincerely, Sherrie Raulerson
